Christmas Dirt Bike Super Prix - Sydney Speedway, 11 December
Dean Collins entered on his KTM 65 (9-13yrs) and YAMAHA YZ 85 (9-11yrs). The event was a long track on clay with banked turns. Dean had an up and down night with mixed results in the heat races including a crash on the 65. The finals were 6 laps and Dean had worked out the track and his competition where he finished 3rd on the 65.
With a last place start in the 85 final Dean came through the pack to lead the race and won by half a bike length. This was only his 3rd race meet on the 85 and he has adapted well to the bigger bike!
Congratulations Dean.

Australian Junior Long Track Titles - 8-10 October at Central Coast Motorcycle Club Somersby
Dean Collins competed in the Division 2 50cc class against some fast Queensland riders. Friday consisted of two 3 lap practise sessions and 3 races where Dean finished 3rd in all three races. Saturday was a very wet track as it had rained over night and continued all morning to shower on and off. Dean placed 4th in race 4, 2nd in race 5 after nearly missing the race with bike problems. Race 6 saw Dean finish 8th after crashing out of 3rd place leaving him tied for 3rd place in points.
Sunday was very wet due to over night rain again that left the track very slippery and lots of puddles. This was the final race for Dean and his race was out first. Due to a not so great start and being filled in by mud and water, Dean finished 4th. Having posted 3rd best lap time of the event Dean finished fourth overall at his first attempt at an Ausie title.
